Taylor Swift Rumored To Boosts Chiefs Ticket Sales and Viewership

Taylor Swift was the star of the show at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 1, even though she was just a spectator. The pop megastar was there to watch her rumored beau, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, face the New York Jets.

Swift was joined by several celebrity friends, including actors Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Hugh Jackman. The group watched the game from a luxury suite, and Swift was seen celebrating with her companions as the Chiefs scored the first touchdown of the game.

Swift’s attendance at the Chiefs’ last two games has sent the National Football League’s ticket sales and television viewership soaring. Jets ticket sales for their game against the Chiefs soared, with sales in a single day more than doubling the previous record for this season. Sunday’s game was the second-highest selling game of the NFL season after the season opener.

Viewership for the Chiefs’ September 24 game, when Swift first attended, spiked 63% week-over-week among women ages 18-49, Swift’s prime fan demographic.

Swift and Kelce have played coy on the nature of their relationship, but the pop star’s presence at his games has certainly generated buzz and excitement. Kelce spoke briefly about Swift this week when his brother, Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, jokingly asked him on their podcast: “How’s it feel that Taylor Swift has finally put you on the map?”

“Shout out to Taylor for coming through and seeing me rock the stage,” said Kelce, who described her as looking “amazing” and dubbed Swift’s enthusiasm during the game and the excitement of Chiefs fans at seeing her there as “absolutely hysterical.”

The Chiefs won the game 23-20, and Swift was seen leaving the stadium with Kelce after the game. It’s unclear whether or not the two are officially dating, but their relationship is certainly one of the most talked-about topics in the NFL right now.

The Taylor Swift Effect

Swift’s popularity has had a significant impact on the NFL. Her attendance at games has led to increased ticket sales and television viewership. She has also inspired new merchandise, such as “Taylor Swift for the Chiefs” T-shirts and hats.

The “Taylor Swift effect” is a testament to her immense popularity and influence. She is one of the biggest stars in the world, and her fans are passionate about supporting her. It’s no wonder that the NFL is eager to capitalize on her popularity.
