As the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino conference heats up with the playoffs in sight, Eya Laure and Chery Tiggo find themselves navigating through a challenging schedule against seasoned opponents. Laure’s leadership and the team’s resilience were evident in their recent triumph over Cignal, a hard-fought battle that culminated in a thrilling comeback victory.

Laure, reflecting on their progress as a young team, emphasized the learning experience gained from facing established opponents. Her stellar 26-point performance was instrumental in Chery Tiggo’s 17-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 16-14 win, showcasing the team’s ability to overcome adversity and turn the tide in their favor.

The victory marked the Crossovers’ fifth consecutive win, positioning them with seven victories in eight matches. Their upcoming matches against F2 Logistics, Creamline, and Choco Mucho pose a formidable challenge, especially without key player Imee Hernandez, sidelined due to an ACL tear.

Despite the daunting schedule, Chery Tiggo’s recent success instills confidence in their ability to compete at a high level. Coach KungFu Reyes attributes their winning mentality to a never-say-die attitude, underscoring the importance of resilience until the final point is secured.

The victory over Cignal not only halted their opponent’s five-game winning streak but also showcased the collective effort of the team. Princess Robles contributed 18 points, supported by Mylene Paat and Cza Carandang with 11 points each, while Jas Nabor’s 21 excellent sets facilitated the team’s cohesive gameplay.

Sto. Tomas acknowledges the persistent pressure as Petro Gazz aims to secure a semifinal berth, emphasizing the importance of managing expectations and staying focused amidst the challenges ahead.

As the playoffs draw nearer, Chery Tiggo’s momentum and Petro Gazz’s resurgence highlight the competitive nature of the league. Laure’s standout performance, coupled with the team’s collective effort, signals their readiness to navigate through the intense competition and strive for success in the upcoming matches.
